The Castello is a hotel, the Imera is a set of condos. Both are well-appointed. In my opinion the Imera condos are a better deal because they cost more or less the same as a hotel room, but they are more spacious and they have kitchenettes.

This is a nice hotel in the nearby village of Petralia Soprana.

Masseria Sgadari (18 min. by car from convent)

The Masseria (the name means farm in the local dialect) is a luxurious accommodation, whereas those available in town are merely nice. The trade-off is the 18 minutes car commute. The owner has agreed to a special reduction of 10% on the quoted prices. To obtain the reduction, request it (mention the workshop and my name) when making the reservation. Reaching the Masseria can be tricky, especially the first time. Its coordinates (from Google) are 37.753872, 14.129092 . Here are the directions from the convent from Google Maps. Click on the photo icons that enrich the verbal description, they are helpful. There are also driving directions on the Masseria’s website, click here.
The Masseria may start filling up early in 2010; if you are set on it, it may be a good idea to reserve soon.

This is a good quality accommodation, better than a hotel and somewhat rural, but not as nice as the Masseria Sgadari. On the other hand it is less remote and much easier to reach than the Masseria.
